About Us



Russells Equestrian Centre is a family run organisation owned by Carol Boulton and her daughter Verity Tidmarsh. Assisted by 9 yard staff and their livery manager Wendy South (BHSAI) they work at keeping Russells a professional, inclusive and friendly yard.


Carol Boulton







With over 40 years experience in the equestrian industry, Carol has attained the level of BHSSM (BHSI stable manager) making her one of the highest qualified proprietors in Hampshire. Carol is a very experienced teacher of clients with special needs (she currently teaches groups and individuals). For many years she ran the Black Farm group RDA.

Verity Tidmarsh






Verity is the youngest of Carol’s two daughters. She is a partner in the business and senior coach. Currently schooling her new horses to compete, she has recently been awarded a Jeffress Trust Scholarship. Verity coaches clients at all levels with often the main focus of working towards competition.

Verity is continuously working on her coaching being up to date and moving with the times whilst having respect for traditional techniques.

Verity is one of just 9 riders in the UK who have been selected to study with Philippe Karl for 3 years, to learn his School of Lègèretè methods and philosophy.

Wendy South








Wendy has been at Russells for over 30 years. She is the Livery Manager and a BHSAI. Wendy owned Molly who was born at Russells and enjoyed competition success at Cross Country, Show Jumping and Dressage. Wendy particularly enjoys working with young horses and helping first time livery owners buy and work with their horses.
